Social Studies:  The classes will begin Chapter 1.  Section 1, we will read and discuss as a class.  Section 2, the students will be getting into groups, reading over their assigned section, coming up with notes and questions, and designing a whole class activity.  They will be presented and filmed on Friday.  We will re-watch before the chapter test for review!

Math-  Chapter 1: Students will begin adding and subtracting integers.  We will go over the rules and play a card game to review.  The students will also be making a foldable for the properties of numbers.  We will continue to review for the order or operations.

Hello parents and students,

It’s good to be back and I’m very excited about this year.  The first week of school we will be reviewing rules, procedures, and expectations as well as, doing some ice breaker activities that will be fun.  We will also look at the social studies and new math books so that the students are familiar with and know where to look for information.  Look forward to a good week!  Also, www.edmodo.com is the new facebook for classrooms.  You can login as a parent and view my page.  I will post assignments and materials there that will be helpful.  Students will be able post on the main wall and send me messages when needed.  This will be good if they have homework or any questions about school that they don’t feel comfortable posting on the wall for everyone to see.  Other teachers will have edmodo too so add them as a friend to view page.  Thanks so much and contact me if you have any questions!
